Title: Chocolate Factory Poll
Post by: chocadmin on December 11, 2004, 08:36:38 am
Vote now on whether you're looking forward to the new film, do you think it'll be a hit or a miss? Do you have any opinion on whether it'll be better than the Gene Wilder version?

Chocolate is good for gold fishes. Especially fishes that live in tanks in Gwangju.

Yes, i have heard that the civil unrest there has become quite unacceptable. As for the film, they are up against it as the original was/is a classic... Fingers crossed eh?

Why remake something that is a classic and is OK as it is? I don't think the film has dated really and is still entertaining to watch so what can they add except bells and whistles and computer animation? Grrr

I don't recall any bells and whistles in LOTR I, II & III!
I KNEW it was missing something.

Think the plan is to make it more like the book coz Roald Dahl never approved of the original film we all like (hence the name being willy wonka and chocolate factory rather than charlie and the...).
They originally said it was going to be darker (certainly less singing), although the screenwriter said the original was darker than he thought on watching it after writing the new screenplay.
Now news that it's going to be filmed for IMAX http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=109&ST ORY=/www/story/12-16-2004/0002636697&EDATE=
(any of you who've seen an IMAX film will know how cool this is).
