I would rescue an ex-racing greyhound (or two).

Mine is clever. It can even ask for a bun. I only show it at parties though.laugh

My God! What kinda perversions do you think I am into?

Besides, it is pretty much physically impossible.

My daughter has a part-time job looking after racing greyhounds and she is a qualified dog-handler. She helps to 'home' retired racing greyhounds and assures me they make the most wonderful pets.

Whatever happened to Grant Mitchell's greyhound, Freda?

Frieda went to live with Nigel Bates in Edinburgh. Found this on the Eastenders website for you smurfy.

I couldn't agree more. My friend has 3 greyhounds all from Greyhound Rescue Scotland and they are just the most amazing pets to have. Some greyhounds are a bit problematic at first due to being badly treated or to the fact that some have never even seen stairs of a washing machine before, but with perseverence and a lot of love they give the same back in abundance. If I had a little more time in my life my house would be filled with these beautiful animals. Oldspice, I take my hat off to your daughter.

I read a book recently (chick-lit I'm afraid) that was partly about rehousing racing greyhounds and I learnt a lot about them that I never knew.  For instance you must never feed them off the floor - you have to stand their bowl on something.

Indeed. Also many people don't realise that they don't really sit down. Their bodies just aren't the right shape for sitting, their little bums don't reach the ground!

That's right, and contrary to what people believe the are quite lazy dogs too. They like nothing more that to lie around and being pampered.

For me... I am really a cat person. I did have 3 of them, but now all have sadly all taken the one way trip to the vets. All 3 did make it to a good age though, the last one to go was about 19 years old.

I have been  told by my hubby that I'm not allowed to have any more pets for a while ..... although I did rebel a little bit when my youngest boy begged me to get him 2 mice for his birthday. They really are quite cute and very sociable. 1 is white and beige and one black and white. Named Rolo and Areo.

Of course I have seemed to inherit the cage cleaning out already though!!
