Title: World Cup Songs

I've only heard a clip of this year's song by Embrace, but by all accounts it's a pretty bland effort that doesn't even mention the word 'England'.

Does anyone have any favourites/least favourites? 'World in Motion' by New Order has to be my fave, for the John Barnes rap if nothing else! One I remember for the wrong reasons is Del Amitri's 1998 song for Scotland. The title? 'Don't Come Home Too Soon'! Well there's optimism for you!

When I hear 1982's "This time" it brings back fond childhood memories. I also like "World in motion" and "Three Lions".

At Butlins at the weekend I was 'treated' to the premiere of the world cup song by Showaddywaddy.  If anyone is old enough to remember, it's to the old song "Hey Rock and Roll" and I think the chorus was:

Hey Eng-er-land

Here we come Berlin

Apparently Frank Bruno and Geoff Hurst have recorded a song called 'Who do you think you're kidding Jurgen Klinsmann?' to the tune of 'Who do you think you're kidding Mr Hitler?'.
