My dad told me Monday Monday by Mamas and Papas was playing on the radio when I was born and I believe it was number one at the time. loulou38857.0161226852

I think Paperback Writer was number one on the day i was born after just checking on a 60's number one site.

Looked it up on Google/bittersuiteband.com. Scroll down to more music trivia and click on every UK no1 hit. Slade hit no1 with this song on 30/6/1973 and was knocked off the top spot on 21/7/1973 by Peters & Lee with Welcome Home.

That was a good song. However, as a small child, I thought it strange that someone would write a song about being a paper bag writer.

Not sure wot was No. 1 when I was born but the first song I remember was 'These birds are made for walking' by Nancy Sinatra.  There was something about the song that drove me wild even at three.  Says a lot about me I guess.
