Post by: kevvosa on March 21, 2006, 04:08:57 pm
I havent seen Cadbury Dream around for a while, is it still made? I'm sure that the small bars have been discontinued.

I think it's still going, but is one of those bars you don't see everywhere like Star Bar, Fuse etc.

Yes! I have looked everywhere for those much talked about Etc bars. Nowhere can I find them! What is in them exactly?

Thought so. Milkybar still seems to be going strong though. Only good thing about Cadbury Dream is that the chunks were bigger.

You wouldn't like them, they're made by Cadbury

I was wondering that - I don't remember seeing it for long time and I loved it.

I try to avoid looking at chocolate, the diet is still on going. I don't remember it being a limited edition bar but they my have discontinued it? I will have a look in Woolies at the weekend as I am buying some tea, coffee and sugar jars. My push the boat out and buy the biscuit and pasta jars to match!

WHAT!? CDM Etc?

That sounds plausible. Let's face it, that is their strategy when thinking of a new bar these days!

As Chocadmin mentioned in a recent post, slab style bars are now outselling the traditional single bars. Therefore Cadbury are concentrating on what sells best. Most successful companies do.

The fact that Cadbury pulled Wispa and other bars had no bearing on this?

Although Cadbury's were stupid to pull Wispa (just look how well the inferior Aero is selling these days) I do think they are clever using Dairy Milk on so many products. They're making tons of money which is their aim. Unfortunately it gets a bit boring for us chocolate eaters when we get yet another new "Dairy Milk with..."

Have you seen Willy Wonka?

Sweets are meant to be magical!

Not some large corporation's "Logo'd" brand.

It's the same with many things these days. All that counts is making money and loads of it.

Big bars sell better across the board, not just for Cadbury. And in any case, you can get Bubbly in small bars too.

P.S. That doesn't mean I'm happy Cadbury dropped Wispa and its variants - I would love to see Wispa Mint and Gold back.
