Who will win?

...so long as it's not Steve I don't really mind.

I know some women probably find him boyishly charming and attractive, but I'm just not one of them! He comes across as a bit too slick, arrogant and I think 'Michael Bolton' sums him up rather well.

I can't believe Cassie was voted off last night! I read it on the website this morning (no ITV here). Did you actually watch it Loulou? Was she that bad? I thought she had a lovely voice....wasn't too fond of the wailing and whing song choices though.

Get rid of Steve!!

I think my bet's on either Tabby or Rowetta.

I liked Cassie's voice too!  I am an even sadder person as I find myself addicted to Strictly Come Dancing!

My Mum loves that! I think she's hoping Julian(?) will win.

Did Carol Vordamen (sp?) get voted off?

She did, a couple of weeks ago I think.  Julian's still in though.  Go Aled!

Yes OSC I watched it and Cassie was second worst last night. That G4 have to go...they are shockingly boring.

I agree with you about Steve...too smarmy.

I think the final will be Tabby and Rowetta.

My fave was that first one to be voted off, Roberta and I alos really liked those 3 girls...Voices with Soul.

I hate Louis Walsh.

Rowetta forever!!

P.S. My sister pointed out last night that Kelly from Corrie could be Rowetta's daughter - how right she was! Anyone else noticed?

The X Factor is of course largely opinion based. In my opinion Rowetta is awful and totally unmarketable. Soul sisters or whatever their name was are a 21st century version of the Weathergirls.... its been done before. Steve is smarmy and horrible but can sing. I think G4 are the best singers but will have limited appeal commercially. Tabby and Cassie i thought most likely to succeed - especially with Tabby's weak playing to the lowest common denominator stunt on Saturday (Singing (averagely) Sweet Child O' Mine with pictures of his own son on the wall - eugh!). Now Cassie has harchly gone i expect Tabby to win but i will be disappointed when he does.

What annoys me is how Sharon and Louis criticise Simon's choices and comments, then a) copy his choices and b) change things he has told them should be changed. Why can't they just admit it when he gets it right?

Rowetta forever!

My excuse is it is choc related and I bore you with my repetitive opinions, albeit this is a general post forum.

I just think these type of programs are indicative and what the masses see as "entertainment" today.

If I bore you please feel free to comment as I naturally would.

It's not exactly high-brow entertainment, but it is very addictive! I initially just started watching it to see how daft it was...then I just, kind of happened to watch it every week....to see how daft it was......then it got to the 'Xtra Factor', and the 'Xtra xtra Factor' which I watched a few times a week.....just to see how daft it was, of course.

If Voices With Soul had won - they should have abstained from chocolate for a little while...

G4 - great voices - shame about the taste in women! (In my OPINION only of course)

What is the world coming to?

Steve looks like a puppet when he's performing, no charisma whatsoever.

'Zzzzzzzzzzzz' factor more like it. I want G4 to win now, but I've a horrid feeling the smarmy git will prevail.

NO

REFUSE G4

WE CAN'T LET A BOY BAND WHO CAN'T SING QUEEN SONGS PROPERLY WIN IT! THEY'VE ONLY GOT THIS FAR ON LOOKS!! KILL BOY BANDS!!

VOTE FOR THE OTHER GUY, WHOEVER HE IS

Title: THE X FACTOR
Post by: loulou on December 06, 2004, 12:08:23 am
Are you having a laugh? "They've only got this far on looks". I have never seen a group of uglier, geeky lads in my life. They have no looks, no talent, nil personality and certainly no x factor. All boy bands should not be killed off but this one should, they remind me of a barber shop quartet. There was only one in the final 9 had any x factor and she got voted off first.

Can someone define 'X factor'? Is it shaggableness?
Title: THE X FACTOR
Post by: one_serious_chocoholic on December 09, 2004, 08:46:29 pm

Well, I would have thought it was along those lines, but judging from the likes of Steve and G4, I'd say it's more a pre-requisite for severe lack of talent, no stage presence and appauling 'celebrity' persona.

Otherwise, yeah I'd say shaggableness, though the producers seem to follow the tagline that it's that special 'something' that makes them irrestible both visibly and audibly...

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I just read about it on the website. The world has gone mad! Did anyone actually see the show? What did Sharon say to him Loulou?!! What's this about the 'reliable girlfriend' thing?!

Well, I'm glad I'm not in the UK for a few more weeks, I can avoid all the 'Steve' press. Smarmy little pleb.

Title: THE X FACTOR
Post by: loulou on December 12, 2004, 01:40:47 pm
Sharon said he was over confident from the start and that he was not all what he appeared to be and she wanted the public to know he was a fake. I don't know what brought that on but she really went at him. I could see Steve's girlfriend in the audience and she has been there most weeks except for the time when he made front page of the newspaper wearing no shirt and saying he liked kinky sex. His girlfriend disappeared that week(can't blame her). But she was there last night.

He was supposed to have been seen trying it on with Tina Hobley at some do, but his girlfriend 'stood by him'. Wonder if she'd have stayed standing by him if he'd gone out of the show that week...

What a sleaze! Steve keeps banging on about how he'd love to bed Beyonce. I also just found out about the 'Volvo' comment - Steve said his girlfriend was like a Volvo; she's reliable.

Charming little pleb.

Title: THE X FACTOR

What is number one at the moment?!

Title: THE X FACTOR
Post by: smurfboy on December 15, 2004, 01:20:47 pm

I'm amazed they're not delaying the release of the single - there's no way it'll dislodge Band Aid 20, appalling as the record is (not the sentiment I hasten to add.) In a few month's time all anyone will remember is that Steve's first single didn't make No.1.

Who out of the others do you reckon will be heard of again? I reckon Sharon will find a contract for Tabby, and someone will give Rowetta a deal. G4 will do a 'classical pop' album, then someone will persuade Jonathan to go solo and become the new Russell Watson. I think the world of reality TV or worse, satellite, beckons for the others.

Title: THE X FACTOR
Post by: chocolate chick on December 15, 2004, 02:53:18 pm

Its the Band Aid one. I like that it is number one. Shame they can't do that amazing concert all over again. I was only 4 months old when they done it the first time around. I hope it stays number one for Sunday's chart.

The only ones that have done well out of the Pop Idol, X Factor think are Gareth and Will and Girls Aloud.

Title: THE X FACTOR

The New band Aid single is crud!  it's got no redeeming features whatsoever, although the original was quite good.

Then that must be a truly diabolical song.  Although the aims are laudible, the the new Band Aid song is just so cheesy, inept, totally lacking in quality and downright naff.

Steve's song is a cover of 'Against All Odds'. Maybe the thinking behind it is that the Mariah Carey/Westlife cover was so awful, this version would sound good by comparison...

Liberty X and Will young are the only ones who prob made good money out of doing these programmes. Hearsay, Girls Aloud and Gareth were all diabolical.

Title: THE X FACTOR
Post by: smurfboy on December 17, 2004, 09:59:16 am
Liberty X just got lucky - they had one good song just as the press were turning on Hearsay. Since then all they've done is a load of cover versions, which is exactly what they said they weren't going to do.

Girls Aloud aren't ugly.  OK one of them is, but that still leaves four that are OK.  Actually one of them is really pretty and two others are average and one is so so.
