I think it had just been born in a zoo.

I feel really sad now cos I came to tell you all about the lovely baby giraffe that was born in the zoo at Devon and now I find out that  only a week old and it has died in a fire with its mother. I wish I hadn't started this thread now.

I heard it was born the other week on GMTV and then found out yesterday it had died along with its mother in a fire. Its very sad.

The mum had given birth twice before, one had died early and the other she had rejected. She had bonded with this one though.

They never did find that penguin which was stolen before Christmas

Why would anyone steal  a penguin. how could they care for it?

I have no idea. It said on the news that it still needed its mother and would only take her food.

I don't suppose it's still alive now.  They said it looked so cute that somebody must have just picked it up and put it in their pocket.

I heard on the news that the mother penguin has had another babay since then.

Its awful to think someone would do that though

When the big aquarium opened in Plymouth people stole animals from the tanks.
