Are you kidding? People have been waxing lyrical about the bar ever since the forum was set up! There's probably no picture in the discontinued section because no picture exists! Cadbury's have even forgotten they made it!

I think Cadbury's are in denial. If they don't admit to ever making it,
they are probably hoping that people will forget all about them!!

oh, i know that - what i mean is theres no way to cast a vote or anything... it needs to be in the discontinued section - if not in picture, then in spirit.

Everytime I manage to forget about Cabana someone mentions it again. I'll buy some cherries and coconut tomorrow and caramly stuff and I'll try to recreate it.

Lou - did your mum make some coconut ice for you? If you/she made some, you could stir glace cherries (or marachino cherries if you feel daring) into the mix and then, when the coconut ice is set, dip it in melted chocolate! Hey Presto - a Cabana bar!

oldspice my mam did make coconut ice and I have passed your idea to her and she says she will try it on Wednesday afternoon when she has been to Asda for some cherries.

Cadbury's have acknowledged that they made it in a reply to my email.  However, as they do not respond to public opinion they have no plans to bring it back, although they stopped short of saying that they would never bring it back.

Lou, get your mum to make the coconut ice a bit softer than usual - she will need to add a bit more condensed milk and the stir in the cherries cos you don't want the bar to be too solid. Another ideas would be to add the cherries, roll the mixture into balls and then coat them in chocolate. Cabana bites!

I feel it's about time I confessed - I've never had a
Cabana, I don't remember them at all. I'm hanging
my head in shame.

Goldencup - I agree with you -     . I'm 37, but
I'm told I look around 26-28, which is nice. I've got
severe toothache at the moment so I probably look
about 157 years old. I'm absolutely terrified of
dentists, I'm hoping and praying the pain will stop
soon (with the help of red wine and pain killers).

If there's something wrong with your tooth then the pain will come back. Always best to see a dentist sooner than later. It can be the difference between having a filling or having a tooth pulled. I took my friend last week and she was given a mild sedative before her filling as she was so scared. Now she says she has no worries about going again.

I have horrible memories of an extraction of a tooth at the dentist. Bleurgh.

Anyway lou if if it works, please post up the recipe We could start our own business to rival Cadbury or something That'd show them.

I had to be sedated to have an implant last year. I am not overly
scared of the dentist but he was telling me all about it before I had
the operation and it put me right off. The only answer was sedation.
I'm glad it's all over with now and it looks just like a perfectly
normal tooth.

I was crying on the phone to my Mum, she laughed
so much she hung up, phoned me back and put my
Dad on the phone. I'm absolutely terrified, I've got
cotton wool soaked in vodka in my cheek and an
appointment for 9.30am tomorrow. I need more than
mild sedation, a sharp blow to my head with a
hammer is more like it.

I think you should invest in a cattle prod, just to give her that little bit of extra encouragement...
