did galxy counter have advert with a rabbit in it ?
-
I don't remember that. The packet certainly featured a giraffe.
-
Hang on a minute - there were all those stupid sounding animals saying things like "I've got a two I've got a two." Then the other one couldn't decide if he had a six or a nine. Could well have been rabbits?
-
so was it a rabbit or was it a girffa
-
anyone PLZ this will drive me MAD!
-
I don't remember the advert. How old are you 623058? Are you old enough to remember these adverts because I thought Galaxy counters had not been around for about 20 years now - or is my memory failing me?
-
i'm 20!!! but someone memtioned this I now wrondering what was on it! Yes aad more or likliy haven't been on telly fro over 20 years
-
The ad I'm remembering was in the 70's so you definitely wouldn't remember it. It caused a lot of giggling at school because of the "Is it a 6 or a 9" bit. I'm not sure what the animals were but they were really stupid sounding and could have been sort of goofy rabbits. What I am certain of is that the packet had a giraffe on it. OK?
-
Having looked on Google, somebody else was obviously of the same opinion!
Quote - think they had numbers on them and in fact there was a Galaxy Counter TV advert that got many complaints where kids were showing what numbers they'd got and one couldn't make up his mind if it was a 6 or a 9. He get turning it upside down and saying "69 69 69". This caused a lot of giggling when I was at school!
-
I was so naive, I don't remember any of that, I just
remember eating them, they were my favourite
sweets. Can someone please confim what colour
the packet was?
-
White.
-
So Galaxy Counters were just like 'the chocolate one' in Revels. But obvioulsy made of Galaxy chocolate?
-
Exactly. And they originally had numbers on, in white.
-
Thanks goldencup. I can now imagine what you are talking about. Shame
they are still not around as the Revels ones are nice as they do not
have the sugar shell on.
-
I have a terrible visual memory. What sweets were in
a blue bag with a picture of an owl on it? I thought it
was Counters....?
-
Yes it was. Sometimes an owl, but more usually a giraffe.
-
Thanks goldencup, I'm glad to know that I'm not
completely insane yet. I do feel very light headed,
probably due to all the cotton wool soaked in vodka
I've had against my poorly tooth though. At least the
pain's diminished, I hope it goes away completely
and I won't have to go to the dentist's tomorrow.
-
Sadly I don't think toothache ever cures itself. Good luck if you have to go - sometimes the apprehension is worse than the treatment. And I don't think any treatment is as bad as really bad toothache.
-
My face has now swollen to double it's usual size, I
don't think this is going away. At least I've stopped
crying now. The pain has lessened but the
anticipation and apprehension is driving me to
distraction.
-
Yes and it was that lovely white shiny plastic packet they came in I loved!
I'd forgotten til I read this that they were called counters.
Another on the list to bring back!
-
Galaxy Counters featured several animal characters including Olly Owl, Percy Pelican, Geoffrey Giraffe, and Clive the Camel.
Certain numbers were also printed on the packets as well (a big red "1" next to Olly, if I remember back 34 years ago!!) and on the back, you were asked if you could help the character to count how many counters he had on him.
-
I'm too young to remember.
-
-
Don't laugh. I am
-
I remember these on Galaxy Counters too. Thanks Unknown man? You've brought back my childhood memories. Loulou, these were around same time as Freddie the Frog and you remember him.
-
I just remember that creamy taste. However, I think I really like chocolate buttons best. The texture is better. Galaxy chocolate is a bit waxy.
-
well there got stop when I was born 1985. so don't ask me
-
aw i loed those galaxy counters bring them back!
